At just two months old, Isabella (Bella) had her first seizure. She was rushed to the emergency department, and after many procedures and tests, was diagnosed with epilepsy. Two weeks after she was approved to go home, she was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit and soon after, transported to other hospitals, looking for answers. One doctor warned that she might not make it to her first birthday. From her first diagnosis, Infantile Spasms, to intractable epilepsy, cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, and chronic respiratory failure, Bella has continued to overcome health challenges. Due to the severity of her case, she was transported to numerous hospitals seeking answers from twelve specialists across different states. Her mother worked closely with her care coordinates to educate, train and prepare the family to use all of the necessary equipment at home. Today, Bella is ten and her mom says “she is a warrior!
